Pittsburgh Community Data Workshop In-Person

While national data is relatively easy to come by, finding local data is a bit trickier.  If you're interested in learning about Pittsburgh community data resources, specifically the Southwestern Pennsylvania Community Profiles and the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center websites, then this workshop is for you.  A representative from The University Center for Social and Urban Research (https://www.ucsur.org/will be coming to Gumberg Library to teach students, faculty and staff about the above mentioned data resources.  Feel free to bring your laptop as this session will be hands-on.  I hope to see you there.  If you have any questions, please contact Cathryn Miller millerc12@duq.edu

Also, below you'll find information that UCSUR provided about the two data resources they will be teaching:

"Southwestern Pennsylvania Community Profiles presents information in a series of interactive tables and maps that allow users to understand and visualize data along a range of community geographic areas, including micro-level neighborhood data from local, state, and federal government sources.

Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center (WPRDC) partners in open data for Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, and all of Western Pennsylvania and provides a technological and legal infrastructure for data sharing to data providers and data users with over 200 data sets and new tools to access property data."
