Choosing Wisely: Deciding Where (and Where Not) to Publish In-Person

Choosing where to publish is critical because it can have a profound effect on the impact of your research. Choosing wisely will help you to reach your intended audience, get citations, and enhance your scholarly reputation. This hands-on workshop will focus on ways that you can identify potential journals for publication and choose journals that align with your goals as a scholar. The presenters will discuss methods to evaluate the reach and reputation of journals using resources available to you through Gumberg Library. Using these approaches will also help you to recognize predatory practices and avoid them. Please come prepared with a topic for a potential paper and a laptop or other device that enables you to work through the resources presented.
