Resources for Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming Populations Webinar Online

As of April 2024, the American Civil Liberties Union has reported on 487 anti-LGBTQ bills in the United States. Transgender and gender-nonconforming rights and gender-affirming care are frequently mentioned in the news and frequently rife with misinformation. As these topics become more prevalent, our students and instructors are increasingly looking for ways to discuss, inform, and advocate about gender non-conforming issues on campus, in Pittsburgh, and nationally. This webinar, and its accompanying research guide, serve as an introduction to respectfully interacting with trans populations, understanding sensitivity around gender-nonconforming issues, and fostering opportunities for trans individuals to lead conversations in their communities.

This session will cover:

- An introduction to transgender and gender-nonconforming populations and their history

- An overview of social, medical, and legal vulnerabilities effecting these populations

- Resources on gender-affirming and inclusive care

- Regional, national, and international advocacy resources

All who register for this program will receive a copy of the slides and recording.
