Getting Started with R In-Person

R is an open source, free statistical programming environment that is widely used for data analysis and data visualization. Unlike other statistical programs that you might be familiar with, in order to use R you need to type commands into the program. This workshop is directed toward graduate students and faculty who are interested in learning basic functionalities of R. In this workshop you’ll learn basic programming skills that will help you import data, describe data and work with packages. If you wish to follow along with the exercises, please have R downloaded onto your computer ( link to cran R website ). A background in statistics is not necessary –come with your passion for data and a willingness to learn. Registration is required.
