Day of the the Dead

Day of the the Dead In-Person

The Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is an ancient tradition in Latin America when families remember their departed loved ones and celebrate their lives.

The campus community is invites to join us in celebrating this unique holiday on October 23.

At 3:30 there will be a brief presentation by Professor  Mildred López Escudero and we will make Cempazuchitl flowers to decorate the altar.

At 4:30 the Day of the Dead altar will be decorated and blessed in Gumberg Library's Popular Reading Room.

Refreshments will include spicy hot chocolate and traditional bread known as pan de muerte.

The altar will be on display until November 7th.

This event is sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, Gumberg Library, and Spiritan Campus Ministry.
