Gift to America 2.0 Meet the Artists In-Person
Gumberg Library, in collaboration with the Society to Preserve the Millvale Murals of Maxo Vanka, is hosting a new exhibit and program series that bring to life the powerful murals of mid-twentieth century artist Maxo Vanka.
The exhibit, Gift to America 2.0 offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring murals of Maxo Vanka while inspiring social and cultural dialogue, celebrating diversity and forging connections through reflections on the extraordinary American experience.
The exhibit features contemporary works created by Christiane Dolores, Max E. Gonzalez, Maggie Negrete and Cue Perry. The artwork is inspired by Maxo Vanka’s original murals in Millvale’s St. Nicholas Croatian Church.
On Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 4 p.m., Exhibit Curator Corey Carrington will introduce the exhibit’s artists and engage in a panel discussion as they highlight their creative process and discuss their experiences as artists of today.
This program is free and open to the public. No RSVP required.
